Ep. 82 - Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's 'Amadeus'
Based on a True Story

Biography, Drama, History, Music
'Amadeus' is one of those films you watch once and will never forget. The marriage of sound and image within the film is curated to perfection. Considered to be one of the greatest films of all time, 'Amadeus' was nominated for 53 (!) awards and won 40, including eight Academy Awards, four BAFTA Awards, four Golden Globe Awards, and a Directors Guild of America Award.
The score was conducted and supervised by the great Sir Neville Marriner performed by the Academy of St. Martin in the Fields - one of the best chamber orchestras in the world. While the plot of the film was a fictionalized account of Mozart's life, the music was weaved into each scene in such a way you couldn't help but feel like you were getting an education on the importance of melody, sound, cinema, and history.
If you haven't seen this film, it is a must-see in our book. It goes on our list as one of the best soundtracks and films of all-time.
