Adventure, Drama, Western, 02-Mar-2022
'Dances with Wolves' is a transformative film. Nominated for 12 Academy Awards, it won seven including Best Original Score composed by the great John Barry. Not only is the film one of the leading influences for revitalizing the Western genre of filmmaking in the early 90's, but it transformed Costner's career and catapulted him into being one of the most prestigious talents working in the industry today.
It was difficult to choose just one scene from this film. In truth, the entire score is simply incredible, with each cue bringing its own magic to the table. This scene, however, is majestic - with the wide shots accompanying the incredible brass, percussion, and strings. With Barry at the helm, it's cinema at its finest.
If you haven't seen this film, it is a must-see.
